UCLA STUNT RANCH RESERVE
RESERVE RULES
The Stunt Ranch Santa Monica Mountains Reserve is open to qualified users.
All use must be consistent with University objectives of education and research.
With the exception of the Stunt High Trail, the Reserve is not open to the
public for recreational uses such as hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking,
picnicking, or rock climbing.

add or modify the Reserve Rules at any time.
1) Pre-approval required for entry. Use applications
for research, class use or field trips and waivers may be accessed on the Reserve website at
http://nrs.ucop.edu/Reserves/UseApps/UseApps.html
or by calling the reserve office at 310
206-3887.
2) Group leaders are responsible for the behavior of
their group.
3) Pets, including dogs, cats, and, horses are not
permitted on the Reserve, except for equestrian use of the Stunt High Trail.
4) Reserve users shall not in any way alter the
property.
5) Camping is not permitted.
6) Smoking and fires of any kind are not permitted.
7) Vehicles may park in designated areas only. Keep
speeds to no more than 5 mph.
8) Firearms are not allowed on the reserve.
9) Care should be given not to enter marked research
plots.
10) Leave the entrance gate as you found it (e.g. if
closed and locked, close and lock it after passing).
11) For researchers only
- All onsite research should be initiated only after a
written application has been approved. This research approval must be renewed
annually in June, in the form of a narrative letter or report providing a
summary of research in the previous year and expected activities for the coming
year.
- All tags or flagging must be coordinated with Reserve
manager and removed at the conclusion of the project.
- Results of studies are expected to be incorporated
into the Reserve database, as appropriate. Confidentiality of the data can be
arranged. Written materials that result from work conducted at Stunt Ranch must
acknowledge the Reserve. Two reprints or copies of articles, reports, or theses
based on work done at the Reserve should be promptly delivered to the Reserve
office, whether published or unpublished.
12) Notify the Reserve manager of any special needs
your group may have.
