Summary: We are conducting a study of the California native plant toyon by installing a common garden of about 200 plants sourced from 40 different regions in California. They are being monitored biweekly, and watered 2-3 times a week over summer 2022. The garden will be removed in Summer of 2023, and the majority of data collection occurred over summer 2022. During the fall of 2022, the plants will be watered once per week until the rain season begins, and data will be collected once per month.
